Unfortunately, another student named Devansh ended up working alone. He was intelligent and creative, but many students avoided him because he often disagreed with others. During previous projects, arguments had caused him to become isolated. Most students simply assumed he was difficult to work with.
As the exhibition date approached, Rithvik noticed something interesting. Whenever teams faced technical problems, Devansh quietly helped them. He fixed coding errors, suggested better designs, and never asked for credit. One afternoon, when Rithvik’s robot stopped working completely, Devansh spent nearly an hour helping him solve the problem.
That evening, Rithvik thought about the situation. His friends were already loyal teammates. Helping them was important, but they were already standing beside him. Devansh, however, remained alone despite having good intentions. The next day, Rithvik invited him to join their team.
At first, everyone felt awkward. But slowly things changed. Devansh shared brilliant ideas, listened more carefully, and worked well with others. The rest of the team also learned to understand him better. What began as an uncomfortable partnership soon became a genuine friendship.
When the exhibition day arrived, their robot impressed the judges with its creativity and teamwork. The team won a special award for collaboration. During the celebration, their science teacher smiled and recited:

மைசூரில் உள்ள ஒரு பள்ளியில் ரோபோ கண்காட்சி நடைபெறவிருந்தது. மாணவர்கள் குழுக்களாகப் பிரிக்கப்பட்டு, ஒரு பயனுள்ள ரோபோவை உருவாக்க வேண்டும் என்று ஆசிரியர்கள் அறிவித்தனர். பதினான்கு வயது ரித்விக் தனது நண்பர்களுடன் ஒரே குழுவில் சேர்ந்ததால் மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருந்தான். அனைவரும் உற்சாகமாக திட்டமிடத் தொடங்கினர்.
ஆனால் தேவான்ஷ் என்ற மாணவன் மட்டும் தனியாக இருந்தான். அவன் புத்திசாலி. புதிய யோசனைகள் நிறைய தெரியும். ஆனால் முந்தைய திட்டங்களில் கருத்து வேறுபாடுகள் ஏற்பட்டதால், பலர் அவனுடன் சேர்ந்து வேலை செய்ய விரும்பவில்லை. அதனால் அவன் மெதுவாக மற்றவர்களிடமிருந்து விலகி நின்றுவிட்டான்.
கண்காட்சி நெருங்கியபோது, ரித்விக் ஒரு விஷயத்தை கவனித்தான். எந்தக் குழுவிற்காவது தொழில்நுட்பப் பிரச்சினை வந்தால், தேவான்ஷ் அமைதியாக உதவுவான். ஒரு நாள் ரித்விக்கின் ரோபோ முற்றிலும் செயலிழந்தபோது கூட, ஒரு மணி நேரத்திற்கும் மேலாக உட்கார்ந்து சரிசெய்ய உதவினான். உதவி செய்த பிறகும் எந்தப் பாராட்டும் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை.
அந்த இரவு ரித்விக் நீண்ட நேரம் யோசித்தான். தனது நண்பர்கள் ஏற்கனவே தன்னுடன் இருந்தார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு உதவுவது நல்லது தான். ஆனால் தனியாக நிற்கும் ஒருவரை இணைத்துக் கொள்வது இன்னும் பெரிய நல்ல செயல் அல்லவா? மறுநாள் அவன் தேவான்ஷை தனது குழுவில் சேர அழைத்தான்.
ஆரம்பத்தில் அனைவருக்கும் சற்று தயக்கம் இருந்தது. ஆனால் சில நாட்களில் நிலைமை மாறியது. தேவான்ஷ் தனது திறமைகளை பகிர்ந்தான். மற்றவர்களின் கருத்துகளையும் கவனமாகக் கேட்க ஆரம்பித்தான். குழுவினரும் அவனைப் புரிந்துகொள்ள முயன்றனர். மெதுவாக அந்தக் குழு நண்பர்களின் குழுவாக மாறியது.
கண்காட்சி நாளில் அவர்கள் உருவாக்கிய ரோபோ அனைவரையும் கவர்ந்தது. ஆனால் அதைவிட ஆசிரியர்களை கவர்ந்தது அவர்களுடைய ஒற்றுமை. பரிசளிப்பு விழாவில் அறிவியல் ஆசிரியர் புன்னகையுடன் இந்தக் குறளைச் சொன்னார்:
நட்டார்க்கு நல்ல செயலின் விரைந்ததே
ஒட்டாரை ஒட்டிக் கொளல்.
பின்னர் அவர் கூறினார்: “ஏற்கனவே நண்பர்களாக இருப்பவர்களுக்கு நல்லது செய்வது சிறந்த பண்பு. ஆனால் விலகி நிற்பவரை அன்பால் நண்பனாக்குவது அதைவிட உயர்ந்த செயல்.”
அந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்ட ரித்விக் சிரித்தான். அவர்கள் வென்றது ஒரு பரிசை மட்டுமல்ல; ஒரு புதிய நண்பனையும் என்பதைக் அவன் உணர்ந்தான்.
