At Green Valley School, the students were excited about their annual sports day. The timetable was displayed on the notice board, and everyone started preparing for their events. But something strange happened. Every morning, the timetable seemed to have changed. The relay race moved to another time, the long jump was shifted, and the teachers kept receiving different versions of the schedule.
Everyone blamed the sports captain, Kabir. “You must have changed it!” his classmates complained.
Kabir decided not to argue. Instead, he began paying attention to what was happening around the school. He noticed that the notice board was being used by several clubs, teachers were adding handwritten changes, and the school office was printing updates at different times.
Then he discovered the real problem. The sports schedule was being changed whenever another school activity was added, but nobody was informing the sports team about the changes.
Kabir brought the teachers and student leaders together. They created one final timetable, and whenever a change was made, everyone received the same update.
On sports day, everything ran smoothly.
The sports teacher smiled at Kabir and said, “You didn’t solve the problem by guessing who was responsible. You first understood what was actually happening.”
Kabir remembered a line of ancient wisdom:
எல்லார்க்கும் எல்லாம் நிகழ்பவை எஞ்ஞான்றும்
வல்லறிதல் வேந்தன் தொழில்.
Ellārkkum ellām nigazhpavai eññāṉṟum
vallaṟidhal vēndhan thozhil.
Thiruvalluvar reminds us that a leader must always know what is happening around them. Kabir understood that before trying to fix a problem, he needed to understand the whole situation.
Moral
Good decisions begin with good awareness. Before blaming someone or trying to solve a problem, understand what is really happening around you.

மாறிக்கொண்டே இருந்த கால அட்டவணையின் மர்மம்
கிரீன் வேலி பள்ளியில் ஆண்டு விளையாட்டு விழாவுக்காக மாணவர்கள் அனைவரும் ஆவலுடன் காத்திருந்தனர். விளையாட்டு போட்டிகளின் கால அட்டவணை அறிவிப்பு பலகையில் வைக்கப்பட்டதும், மாணவர்கள் தங்களுக்கான போட்டிகளுக்குத் தயாராகத் தொடங்கினர்.
ஆனால் அடுத்த நாள் ஒரு குழப்பம் ஏற்பட்டது. ஓட்டப்பந்தயத்தின் நேரம் மாறியிருந்தது. நீளம் தாண்டும் போட்டி வேறு நேரத்திற்கு மாற்றப்பட்டிருந்தது. ஆசிரியர்களிடமும் வெவ்வேறு கால அட்டவணைகள் இருந்தன.
மாணவர்கள் அனைவரும் விளையாட்டுக் குழுத் தலைவர் கபீரை குறை கூறத் தொடங்கினர். “நீதான் அட்டவணையை மாற்றியிருக்க வேண்டும்!” என்றனர்.
கபீர் அவர்களுடன் வாதிடாமல், பள்ளியில் என்ன நடக்கிறது என்பதை கவனிக்கத் தொடங்கினான். அறிவிப்பு பலகையை பல்வேறு குழுக்கள் பயன்படுத்துவதையும், ஆசிரியர்கள் அதில் கையால் மாற்றங்களைச் செய்வதையும், பள்ளி அலுவலகம் வெவ்வேறு நேரங்களில் புதிய அட்டவணைகளை அச்சிடுவதையும் கவனித்தான்.
சிறிது நேரத்தில் உண்மையான காரணம் அவனுக்குப் புரிந்தது. பள்ளியில் வேறு நிகழ்ச்சிகள் சேர்க்கப்பட்டபோது விளையாட்டு அட்டவணையும் மாற்றப்பட்டது. ஆனால் அந்த மாற்றங்கள் விளையாட்டுக் குழுவினருக்குத் தெரிவிக்கப்படவில்லை.
கபீர் ஆசிரியர்களையும் மாணவர் தலைவர்களையும் ஒன்றாக அழைத்தான். அனைவரும் பயன்படுத்தும் ஒரே இறுதி கால அட்டவணையை உருவாக்கினார்கள். இனிமேல் ஏதேனும் மாற்றம் ஏற்பட்டால், அனைவருக்கும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் தகவல் தெரிவிக்க முடிவு செய்தனர்.
விளையாட்டு விழா நாளில் எந்தக் குழப்பமும் இல்லாமல் அனைத்து போட்டிகளும் சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றன.
விளையாட்டு ஆசிரியர் கபீரைப் பார்த்து, “யார் தவறு செய்தார்கள் என்று ஊகிக்காமல், முதலில் உண்மையில் என்ன நடக்கிறது என்பதைப் புரிந்துகொண்டாய். அதுதான் இந்தப் பிரச்சினையைத் தீர்க்க உதவியது,” என்று பாராட்டினார்.
அப்போது கபீருக்கு திருவள்ளுவரின் குறள் நினைவுக்கு வந்தது:
எல்லார்க்கும் எல்லாம் நிகழ்பவை எஞ்ஞான்றும்
வல்லறிதல் வேந்தன் தொழில்.
சுற்றிலும் என்ன நடக்கிறது என்பதை எப்போதும் அறிந்திருப்பது ஒரு தலைவரின் கடமை என்று திருவள்ளுவர் கூறுகிறார். ஒரு பிரச்சினையைத் தீர்ப்பதற்கு முன், அதன் முழு நிலைமையையும் புரிந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும் என்பதை கபீர் கற்றுக்கொண்டான்.
