Vikram knew it was wrong but hid the copied lines in their program to “protect” their win. It worked—the bot zipped perfectly! At the contest, judges cheered as it sorted trash flawlessly. But a glitch sparked: the bot repeated Team Alpha’s unique beep pattern. A sharp-eyed judge zoomed in. “This code looks familiar…” Vikram’s stomach dropped.
Busted! The small “protected” cheat exploded. Judges disqualified them. Team Alpha accused theft, turning friends into foes. Parents fumed, classmates shunned Vikram—”Cheater!” Even his own team ditched him. Whispers followed: “Vikram ruins everything.” That night, his uncle shared the Kural:

Vikram’s uncle grinned: “You uprooted the wrong—now victory’s yours.” Vikram stood tall, team united, bot shining brighter.

விக்ரமின் தவறான முடிவு
பரபரப்பாக இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த சென்னை தொழில்நுட்பப் பள்ளியில் 12 வயது விக்ரம் ரோபோடிக்ஸ் திறமையில் மிகவும் புகழ்பெற்ற மாணவனாக இருந்தான். பள்ளிகளுக்கிடையே நடைபெறும் ரோபோடிக்ஸ் போட்டிக்காக அவன் குழுவினர் சேர்ந்து குப்பைகளைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து பிரிக்கும் ஒரு சிறந்த ரோபோவை உருவாக்கி வந்தார்கள். அந்தப் போட்டியில் வெற்றி பெற்று கோப்பையும் புதிய சாதனங்களும் கிடைக்கும் என்ற கனவுடன் அனைவரும் ஆர்வமாக உழைத்தார்கள்.
ஆனால் போட்டிக்கு முன் நடைபெற்ற சோதனைகளில் ரோபோ சில நேரங்களில் சரியாக வேலை செய்யாமல் கோளாறு காட்டியது. அப்போது விக்ரமின் ஒரு நண்பன்,
“எளிய வழி இருக்கிறது. போட்டி குழு ‘Team Alpha’ காட்டிய கோடிலிருந்து சில வரிகளை நம்முடைய நிரலில் சேர்த்தால் உடனே சரியாகிவிடும். யாருக்கும் தெரியாது!” என்று கூறினான்.
விக்ரமுக்கு அது தவறு என்பதைத் தெரிந்திருந்தாலும், போட்டியில் தோல்வி அடையக் கூடாது என்ற பயத்தில் அந்தக் கோடுகளை மறைத்து அவர்களின் நிரலில் சேர்த்தான்.
அதற்குப் பிறகு ரோபோ மிகச் சிறப்பாக இயங்கத் தொடங்கியது. போட்டி நாளில் அந்த ரோபோ குப்பைகளை சரியாகத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து வேலை செய்ததை பார்த்து நீதிபதிகள் பாராட்டினர்.
ஆனால் திடீரென்று ரோபோவில் ஒரு சிறிய கோளாறு ஏற்பட்டது. அது “Team Alpha” பயன்படுத்திய அதே விதமான சத்தத்தை மீண்டும் மீண்டும் எழுப்பத் தொடங்கியது. அதை கவனித்த ஒரு நீதிபதி சந்தேகப்பட்டார். நிரலைச் சரிபார்த்தபோது உண்மை வெளிச்சத்துக்கு வந்தது.
விக்ரமும் அவன் குழுவும் போட்டியில் இருந்து நீக்கப்பட்டார்கள்.
அந்தச் சிறிய தவறு பெரிய பிரச்சினையாக மாறிவிட்டது. நண்பர்களும் கோபமடைந்தனர். பலரும் விக்ரமிடம் பேசாமல் விலகினர். அவனுக்கு மிகவும் வருத்தமாக இருந்தது.
அன்று இரவு அவனுடைய மாமா ஒரு திருக்குறளைச் சொல்லிக் காட்டினார்:

அற்றந் தரூஉம் பகை.
பின்னர் அவர் கூறினார்:
“ஒரு தவறை மறைத்து காப்பாற்றினால், அது பெரிய தீமையாக மாறி பல பகைகளை உருவாக்கும்.”
அந்த வார்த்தைகள் விக்ரமின் மனதை மாற்றின.
அடுத்த நாள் பள்ளியில் அனைவரின் முன்னும் விக்ரம் உண்மையை ஒப்புக்கொண்டான். “வெற்றி பெற வேண்டும் என்ற ஆசையில் நான் தவறு செய்தேன். அதற்கு நான் மன்னிப்பு கேட்கிறேன்,” என்று கூறினான்.
அதற்குப் பிறகு அவன் இரவு முழுவதும் உழைத்து ரோபோவை புதிதாக உருவாக்கினான். எந்த நகலுமில்லாமல், தனது சொந்த யோசனைகளைக் கொண்டு அதை மேம்படுத்தினான்.
அதை பார்த்த நீதிபதிகள் விக்ரமின் நேர்மையைப் பாராட்டினர். மீண்டும் போட்டியில் கலந்து கொள்ள அனுமதி வழங்கினர்.
இந்த முறை ரோபோ சிறப்பாக வேலை செய்தது. அனைவரும் கைத்தட்டினர். ‘Team Alpha’ மாணவர்களும் விக்ரமுடன் கைகுலுக்கினர்.
